Responsibilities
- Administer municipal pension plans, including enrollment, benefit calculations, and disbursement processing
- Ensure compliance with Florida Retirement System (FRS) regulations and federal ERISA guidelines
- Manage participant communications regarding plan changes, retirement options, and benefits
- Conduct audits and reconciliations of pension fund accounts and investment portfolios
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for city council and regulatory bodies
- Collaborate with HR and legal teams on pension-related policy updates
- Train new employees on pension plan enrollment procedures and benefits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension plan administration or benefits management
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation preferred
- Proficiency with pension administration software (e.g., UltiPro, Workday)
- Strong understanding of FRS and municipal pension regulations
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial data with discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
