Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems and patrol Capitol grounds during overnight hours
- Screen visitors and control access to secure government facilities
- Respond to security incidents and coordinate with law enforcement agencies
- Conduct routine security checks of buildings and perimeter areas
- Maintain detailed incident reports and security logs
- Enforce state security protocols and emergency procedures
- Operate specialized security equipment (metal detectors, X-ray scanners)
Qualifications
- Valid California Guard Card (BSIS certification)
- Minimum 2 years security or law enforcement experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance
- Strong observational skills and threat assessment abilities
- Proficient in CCTV operation and access control systems
- Excellent communication and de-escalation techniques
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
