Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and baggage
- Conduct physical searches of passengers and carry-on items as required
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes for compliance with TSA regulations
- Identify and report prohibited items, security threats, or suspicious activities
- Maintain accurate screening logs and documentation
- Provide courteous assistance to passengers during screening procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel for incident response
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn screening technologies
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
