Responsibilities
- Threat Detection & Monitoring: Continuously monitor network traffic, systems, and applications for anomalies, vulnerabilities, and potential cyber threats using SIEM tools.
- Incident Response: Lead and coordinate the investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents to minimize impact on government services.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, FISMA) by conducting regular audits and assessments.
- Security Architecture: Collaborate with IT teams to design, implement, and maintain robust security controls, including firewalls, encryption, and access management systems.
- Policy Management: Develop, update, and communicate clear information security policies and procedures to ensure organizational awareness and adherence.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in information security analysis, network administration, or a related IT discipline.
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or CCNA Security certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security frameworks (e.g., CIA triad).
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
