Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain the stability of state databases, network infrastructure, and server environments during weekend shifts.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues for internal staff and external agencies.
- Execute scheduled system patches, security updates, and automated backups to prevent downtime and data loss.
- Collaborate with the central IT team to document technical processes, incident reports, and runbooks.
- Provide technical support and guidance to government employees during peak weekend operations.
- Ensure strict compliance with state cybersecurity protocols, data privacy laws (CCPA/GDPR), and IT policies.
- Participate in emergency response drills and IT continuity planning exercises.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Java, and Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with government IT frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, State of CA IT standards) and cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during off-hours shifts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
