Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the County's long-term IT strategy, infrastructure roadmap, and technology vision.
- Oversee the management of the IT department budget, including capital expenditures, software licensing, and staffing costs.
- Lead a diverse team of system administrators, network engineers, and support staff to ensure high performance and employee development.
- Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data and resident privacy.
- Ensure full compliance with state and federal regulations, including government auditing standards and IT security frameworks.
- Facilitate the integration of cloud computing services and modern software solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Act as the primary point of contact for major IT vendors and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT management, systems administration, or a related technical role.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred.
- Proven experience with network architecture, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and enterprise resource planning systems.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, data governance, and disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
- Experience working within the public sector or government environment is a strong plus.
