Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain advanced cybersecurity protocols to protect federal systems against malicious threats and unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards.
- Lead incident response efforts, including forensic analysis and containment strategies for security breaches.
- Manage identity and access control systems (IAM) to enforce the principle of least privilege for federal personnel.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and secure cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) for government agencies.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior staff members regarding federal cybersecurity policies and best practices.
- Monitor system logs and security dashboards to detect anomalies and report potential security incidents immediately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field (or equivalent years of specialized experience).
- Certification: Active CISSP, Security+, or GSEC certification is highly preferred.
- Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one (Top Secret clearance is a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal IT environments or critical infrastructure protection.
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint protection software.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, TCP/IP, and secure coding practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with government stakeholders and senior leadership.
