Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure IT infrastructure systems including networks, servers, and cloud solutions
- Provide technical support for critical healthcare applications and veteran-facing digital services
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards (NIST, FISMA) and HIPAA regulations
- Lead system upgrades and migrations while minimizing service disruptions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop IT strategic plans aligned with VA objectives
- Document system architectures, procedures, and incident reports
- Mentor junior IT staff and conduct technology training sessions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of progressive IT experience with federal systems or healthcare IT
- Active Security+ CE certification or equivalent DoD 8570 compliance
- Expertise in Windows Server administration and virtualization technologies
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and cybersecurity best practices
- Experience with IT project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum preferred)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Position of Trust security clearance
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation
