Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the City's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring high availability and security.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for end-users across various departments, resolving complex hardware and software issues.
- Manage and configure Active Directory environments, user accounts, and security protocols in compliance with state and federal standards.
- Monitor system performance and perform regular backups to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new IT solutions and upgrade existing systems.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive government data.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR a combination of equivalent education and extensive relevant experience.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration, system support, or a related IT role.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced government environment.
