Responsibilities
- Network Administration: Design, configure, and manage local and wide-area networks to ensure optimal performance and security for state agency operations.
- System Support: Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues for internal stakeholders.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data against cyber threats and ensure adherence to federal and state regulations.
- Project Management: Lead or assist in the deployment of new IT systems and software updates, coordinating with vendors and internal departments.
- User Training: Develop and conduct training sessions for staff to improve digital literacy and proper system usage.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation, including system diagrams and troubleshooting guides, to ensure knowledge continuity.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; or equivalent years of relevant experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in IT system administration or network engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL databases, and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS preferred).
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain necessary government security clearances.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of resolving critical system failures efficiently.
