Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect federal information systems and infrastructure.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify potential threats.
- Monitor system logs and security alerts to detect and respond to unauthorized access or malicious activity.
- Manage the configuration and administration of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption tools.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations including FISMA, NIST, and OMB Circular A-123.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security protocols into IT project lifecycles.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field. (Equivalent experience may be substituted for education).
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC GSEC is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in information security, network administration, or cybersecurity.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Tier 3) security clearance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, SQL, and Python scripting.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical reports and briefings.
