Responsibilities
- Implement and manage security protocols for federal information systems to ensure compliance with NIST standards and government regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and security audits to identify potential threats and mitigate risks proactively.
- Monitor network traffic and security events to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time.
- Develop and maintain documentation for security plans, incident reports, and training materials for federal staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Certification: Must possess or obtain Security+ certification within 6 months of employment.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in information security, network administration, or a related federal IT role.
- Experience with federal security frameworks such as FISMA, DIACAP, or RMF is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows Server, and virtualization technologies.
