Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) for state agencies.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement timely patches.
- Enforce cybersecurity protocols and conduct regular security audits to protect sensitive government data.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in compliance with state regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade hardware and software infrastructure.
- Provide technical training and guidance to junior staff and agency stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT support, networking, or systems administration.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA are strongly preferred.
- Proven expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced government environment.
