Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) across state facilities.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues for end-users in a timely manner.
- Monitor system performance, perform regular security audits, and patch management.
- Configure and manage network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade systems and infrastructure.
- Document technical procedures and maintain accurate inventory of IT assets.
- Provide technical training and guidance to junior staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration or systems support.
- Certification such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with non-technical staff.
- Ability to obtain a Texas driver’s license (if required for travel).
