Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 technical support to county staff via phone, email, and in-person, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage and maintain user accounts, including Active Directory administration, access permissions, and password resets.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop operating systems (Windows) and productivity software (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Perform regular maintenance on computer hardware, printers, and peripherals to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in the deployment of new hardware and software updates across multiple county departments.
  • Document technical issues and resolutions in the Service Desk ticketing system to maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with network administrators to ensure seamless connectivity and security protocols are followed.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a related technical role.
  • Valid certification such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
