Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and system hardware to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement and monitor security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems, to protect sensitive county data.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and troubleshooting for end-users across multiple departments.
- Perform system upgrades, security patches, and preventive maintenance on servers and workstations.
- Document system configurations, network diagrams, and technical procedures to ensure knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex technical issues and plan infrastructure improvements.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in network administration, systems support, or IT help desk roles.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V) is preferred.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
