Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and system hardware to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement and monitor security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems, to protect sensitive county data.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and troubleshooting for end-users across multiple departments.
  • Perform system upgrades, security patches, and preventive maintenance on servers and workstations.
  • Document system configurations, network diagrams, and technical procedures to ensure knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex technical issues and plan infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in network administration, systems support, or IT help desk roles.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V) is preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
