Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of public infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, and parks.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, and jackhammers safely and efficiently.
- Assist in waste management and recycling collection operations during scheduled routes.
- Respond to emergency calls regarding public safety hazards, such as fallen trees or street flooding.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and job site.
- Interact courteously with the public and fellow employees to ensure a positive community experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Virginia Class C Driver's License is mandatory.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred.
- Strong commitment to public service and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
