Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of public parks, sidewalks, and recreational facilities
- Operate heavy machinery (mowers, trucks, tractors) safely and efficiently
- Respond promptly to public works emergencies and service requests
- Conduct routine inspections and document infrastructure conditions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on city improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Assist with seasonal beautification and community events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- Minimum 2 years of public works or maintenance experience
- OSHA 10-hour safety certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (certification a plus)
- Physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Background check and pre-employment drug screening required
