Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Operations: Perform daily maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, parks, and public facilities.
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, and street sweepers.
- Public Works Support: Assist in snow and ice removal during winter months and manage debris pickup during severe weather events.
- Asset Management: Inspect city assets for damage and report necessary repairs to supervisors.
- Community Interaction: Interact professionally with the public and other city employees to ensure smooth operations.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and municipal policies.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in public works, landscaping, construction, or general labor preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.
- License: Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License required. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions; ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools; strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Background: Ability to pass a standard background check and drug screening.
