Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance of public parks, streets, and recreational facilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (e.g., mowers, trucks, sweepers)
- Respond to emergency public works requests during severe weather events
- Conduct safety inspections and report infrastructure hazards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on city improvement projects
- Provide excellent customer service to Memphis residents
- Adhere to all municipal safety protocols and environmental standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year experience in public works, landscaping, or maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- Pass background check and drug screening
