Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair of public streets, sidewalks, and right-of-way facilities.
- Operate heavy municipal vehicles and equipment, including dump trucks, graders, and sweepers, safely and efficiently.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter weather events to ensure public safety.
- Monitor and maintain storm drains, catch basins, and drainage systems to prevent flooding.
- Inspect public works projects and equipment for compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and maintain a clean work environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; vocational training in Public Works or construction is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a valid California Class B Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and perform strenuous labor.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools, maintenance equipment, and safety protocols.
- Strong commitment to public service, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Must pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
