Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on public facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment including trucks, mowers, and hand tools
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city regulations
- Assist in emergency response efforts during severe weather events
- Document work activities and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on community improvement projects
- Participate in public outreach initiatives related to city services
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year experience in maintenance or construction field
- Certification in equipment operation preferred (e.g., CDL Class B)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in outdoor conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Pass background check and drug screening
