Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities in correctional facilities during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security rounds and inspections to maintain facility integrity
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with de-escalation protocols
- Enforce institutional rules and regulations while documenting all incidents
- Operate security systems including CCTV, access controls, and communication equipment
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during emergency situations
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of all shift activities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid New York State driver's license
- US citizenship or legal permanent residency
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and physical fitness assessment
- NYC Correction Officer Academy certification preferred
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments under pressure
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or military service highly valued
