Responsibilities
- Supervise inmate activities and maintain facility security during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular rounds and headcounts to ensure compliance with protocols
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents and maintain accurate shift logs and reports
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages for contraband
- Enforce facility rules and regulations consistently
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years old with high school diploma or GED
- Valid California driver's license
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Completion of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) academy
- Ability to obtain and maintain Firearm and Baton certifications
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Physical stamina to work overnight shifts and respond to emergencies
- US citizenship or legal permanent resident status required
