Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations
- Conduct regular security patrols and inspections of premises to prevent contraband and safety hazards
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with appropriate protocols
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of inmate behavior, facility conditions, and security breaches
- Escort inmates within the facility and to court appearances as required
- Collaborate with law enforcement and correctional teams to ensure facility security and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Texas Peace Officer License or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Previous experience in corrections, military, or security field highly valued
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and reporting systems
