Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and ensure facility security during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to maintain order
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation
- Enforce facility rules and protocols consistently
- Collaborate with day-shift staff for seamless operations
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing
- Physical fitness to handle security demands
- Previous law enforcement or corrections experience preferred
- Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work independently in high-stress environments
