As a night shift dispatcher, you'll be the lifeline connecting first responders with citizens in need. Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate emergency services (police, fire, EMS) during night hours
- Operate multi-line phone systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software with precision
- Maintain detailed incident logs and documentation in compliance with state protocols
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents and natural disasters
- Provide critical information to field units using radio communication systems
- Monitor surveillance systems and alarm systems for public facilities
- Participate in regular training drills and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred in criminal justice or communications
- TX DPS dispatcher certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum 1 year experience in call center, dispatch, or emergency services
- Typing speed of 45+ WPM with high accuracy
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure during emergency situations
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
