Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patrols and surveillance of federal facility perimeters during overnight hours
- Monitor CCTV systems and access control points to prevent unauthorized entry
- Enforce federal security protocols and respond to emergency incidents per VA directives
- Prepare detailed security incident reports using federal documentation standards
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency response teams during critical incidents
- Conduct security screenings for personnel and visitors during shift transitions
- Maintain accountability of classified materials and restricted areas
Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance (required) and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
- Minimum 2 years security/law enforcement experience in federal or regulated environment
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean driving record
- Proficiency with CCTV systems and access control technology
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours with minimal supervision
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Successful completion of federal background investigation and polygraph
- Ability to stand/walk for 8+ hours and respond to emergencies at a moment's notice
