Responsibilities
- Catalog and digitize federal records using NARA's archival management systems
- Preserve historical documents through proper handling and environmental controls
- Assist researchers in locating and accessing archival materials
- Implement records retention schedules and disposition policies
- Conduct quality assurance on digitized collections
- Participate in public outreach programs promoting archival awareness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in History, Library Science, or related field
- 1+ years of archival or records management experience
- Familiarity with digital preservation standards (OAIS, PREMIS)
- Knowledge of federal records management regulations (44 CFR)
- Proficiency with archival databases (Aeon, ArchivesSpace)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work with physical records
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- U.S. citizenship required
