Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of federal records, including creation, maintenance, storage, and disposal, in strict accordance with NARA standards.
- Process Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and Privacy Act requests efficiently and accurately.
- Digitize physical documents and convert legacy files into secure digital formats using enterprise content management systems.
- Coordinate with agency stakeholders to retrieve and organize historical data for ongoing audits and compliance reviews.
- Maintain accurate logs of record access and transfer activities to ensure audit trails are complete.
- Assist in the development of records management training materials for junior staff and contractors.
- Ensure physical and digital storage areas are secure, organized, and disaster-ready.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required for this federal position.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Records Management, Information Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a federal, defense, or intelligence environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with government-specific software (e.g., Defense Travel System, eQIP, or similar).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the Federal Records Act and National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) guidelines.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write technical reports clearly.
