Responsibilities
- Maintain and update geographic information system (GIS) databases and spatial data layers.
- Assist in the collection, verification, and entry of field data for infrastructure projects.
- Prepare maps, charts, and reports for internal stakeholders and public distribution.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of digital mapping assets.
- Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to visualize project data.
- Perform routine quality control checks on mapping products.
- Support disaster preparedness and emergency response mapping efforts.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associate’s degree in GIS, Urban Planning, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and data analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work part-time hours as required, including occasional evenings or weekends for field work.
- Valid California Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
