Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with library resources, including catalog searches and digital tools
- Manage circulation desk operations including check-ins, check-outs, and renewals
- Organize and maintain library materials in accordance with DCPL standards
- Conduct basic reference services and information literacy support
- Participate in community outreach programs and special events
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and patron interactions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred
- Previous customer service or library experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and library catalog systems
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with diverse populations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid DC driver's license or reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
