Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with library resources, including book circulation, reference inquiries, and technology support
- Manage daily operations of the circulation desk, including check-outs, returns, and fines processing
- Organize and maintain library collections, ensuring proper shelving and inventory control
- Facilitate community programs and events for diverse age groups
- Provide basic troubleshooting for public computers and digital resources
- Collaborate with team members to ensure exceptional patron service
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Minimum 6 months customer service experience in a public-facing role
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and library catalog systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle light lifting (up to 20 lbs)
- Availability to work evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule
- Basic knowledge of library organization principles and Dewey Decimal System
