Responsibilities
- Process and verify pension applications, retirement calculations, and benefit adjustments
- Administer health insurance, dental, and vision benefits for retirees
- Respond to retiree inquiries via phone, email, and in-person appointments
- Prepare monthly pension payments and reconcile financial records
- Ensure compliance with ORS Chapter 243 and IRS regulations
- Generate quarterly reports for audit and budget purposes
- Coordinate with OPM and external vendors for seamless benefit transitions
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in finance, accounting, or public administration (Bachelor's preferred)
- 2+ years of benefits administration or pension plan experience
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday)
- Knowledge of ERISA, ORS Chapter 243, and IRS 401(a) regulations
- Exceptional customer service skills with retiree population
- Ability to manage confidential financial data with discretion
- Strong analytical skills for benefit calculation verification
