Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Maintain accurate radio communication with field units
- Enter and update incident data in real-time records systems
- Coordinate with external agencies (FBI, EMS, Fire Department)
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Typing speed: 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS, CAD systems)
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
