Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, gathering accurate information from distressed callers
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment to coordinate emergency responses
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Collaborate with police, fire, and EMS personnel during emergency operations
- Adhere to strict confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certification and procedural knowledge
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Excellent communication skills with clear diction and composure under stress
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn specialized dispatch software
- Must be 18+ years old and legally eligible to work in the US
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
