Responsibilities
- Process 911 emergency calls with calm efficiency and accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems during critical incidents
- Maintain precise radio communication protocols for field operations
- Enter and update sensitive case data in law enforcement databases
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergencies
- Provide crisis intervention and caller guidance under pressure
- Complete all training modules to achieve full dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Exceptional verbal communication in high-stress environments
- Basic computer literacy with proficiency in Windows OS
- Ability to multitask during chaotic emergency situations
- Residency within Dane County preferred
