Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Operate radio systems to dispatch police units and coordinate resources
- Input and maintain accurate data in CAD and RMS systems
- Provide clear instructions to callers during medical/trauma incidents
- Multi-task between phone, radio, and computer systems during high-pressure scenarios
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural protocols
- Complete state-mandated dispatcher training curriculum
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency (40+ WPM)
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional communication skills
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Must be 18+ years old and possess valid California driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence offenses
- Pass hearing/vision tests and medical screening
