Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and non-emergency dispatch requests with accuracy and compassion
- Operate multi-channel radio systems for police, fire, and EMS coordination
- Maintain detailed digital records in CAD/RMS systems during emergency incidents
- Provide critical information to first responders using standardized protocols
- Remain calm under extreme pressure during natural disasters or critical incidents
- Participate in mandatory shift rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Complete all certification requirements per Florida Department of Law Enforcement standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Clear criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to pass psychological evaluation and voice stress analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn specialized dispatch software
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingual candidates strongly encouraged)
- Ability to multitask 15+ simultaneous information streams during emergencies
