Responsibilities
- Process and maintain confidential public records in compliance with state regulations
- Assist citizens and agencies with record requests via phone, email, and in-person
- Digitize and archive historical documents using specialized software
- Coordinate with legal teams for sensitive record classifications
- Generate monthly compliance reports for departmental review
- Train new staff on records management protocols
- Participate in quarterly departmental audits and improvements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 1 year records management or administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Valid Texas driver's license (required for occasional off-site records retrieval)
- Ability to pass state background check and confidentiality training
- Basic knowledge of Texas Public Information Act (TPIA)
- Spanish language fluency highly desirable
