Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, shoveling, lifting, and carrying materials for construction/maintenance projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, power washers) under supervision
- Assist in road repairs, sidewalk maintenance, and park facility upkeep
- Participate in debris removal, landscaping, and waste management operations
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain clean and organized job sites and equipment
- Support emergency response activities during weather events or public safety incidents
- Complete daily work logs and report equipment maintenance needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures
- Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and work independently or in teams
- Pass pre-employment physical examination and drug screening
- Preferred: 6 months prior experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- Must be available for flexible scheduling including weekends and emergency call-outs
