As a key member of our IT support team, you will help ensure the digital infrastructure of the state functions smoothly for staff and citizens alike.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 technical support and troubleshooting for internal staff and public citizens via the Help Desk ticketing system.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, printers, and peripherals for agency operations.
- Assist in the deployment of software updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Monitor network performance and respond to alerts regarding system availability and security.
- Perform accurate data entry and manage digital records in strict compliance with state privacy and retention regulations.
- Collaborate with the IT Infrastructure Manager to identify technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of IT assets and software licenses.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in IT support, technical assistance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and basic understanding of operating systems.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to pass a mandatory State Criminal History Background Check and fingerprinting.
- Must be available to work a part-time schedule, typically 20-25 hours per week, with some flexibility for evening coverage.
