Responsibilities
- Perform passenger and baggage screenings using advanced X-ray technology and manual inspection techniques
- Enforce TSA security protocols while maintaining professional and courteous interactions with travelers
- Operate metal detectors, explosive trace detection systems, and other security equipment
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities according to federal guidelines
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff during security escalations
- Conduct random searches and maintain security checkpoint efficiency
- Participate in continuous training on evolving security threats and procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in English communication (verbal and written)
- Must complete TSA Academy training within 30 days of hire
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
