Responsibilities
- Process and verify pension applications and benefit claims with 100% accuracy.
- Manage the daily payroll system for pensioners, ensuring timely disbursements.
- Conduct regular audits of pension records to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
- Communicate complex pension information clearly to retirees and staff via phone and email.
- Maintain and update confidential employee and retiree records in the state database.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in pension calculations or payment history.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associateās degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration, benefits processing, or a related government role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and government databases.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect errors in financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive personnel data.
