Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan administration including benefit calculations, distributions, and member communications
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Ohio Revised Code
- Conduct eligibility reviews, retirement counseling, and disability claim processing
- Develop and maintain accurate member records using pension management software
- Collaborate with auditors, attorneys, and external stakeholders during annual reviews
- Prepare comprehensive reports for the Board of Trustees and regulatory agencies
- Train staff on pension policies and procedural updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan or benefits administration experience
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred
- Proficiency with pension software (e.g., Milliman, Albridge)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to regulatory compliance
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with government sector retirement systems preferred
