Responsibilities
- Manage complex pension plan administration including benefit calculations, distributions, and participant communications
- Ensure strict compliance with federal retirement laws (TSP, FERS, CSRS) and IRS reporting requirements
- Conduct audits of pension records and resolve discrepancies with precision
- Develop educational materials and conduct retirement planning workshops for federal employees
- Collaborate with HR departments on retirement eligibility and benefit transitions
- Analyze pension fund performance and recommend optimization strategies
- Maintain confidential participant records with zero tolerance for errors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience with federal or large corporate plans
- SPBC or QPA certification required
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS 5500 filings, and retirement plan regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Benefitfocus, Empyrean)
