Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize municipal pension plans ensuring ERISA and IRS compliance
- Manage investment portfolios, conduct financial modeling, and prepare actuarial reports
- Provide retirement counseling to employees and retirees regarding benefit options
- Oversee plan audits, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate participant records
- Develop and implement strategic plan improvements aligned with regulatory changes
- Collaborate with legal and HR teams on pension-related policy development
- Present financial reports to the Pension Board and city officials
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 415/401(k) regulations, and Ohio pension laws
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, ADP)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling and forecasting
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder education and reporting
- Professional designation (e.g., CEBS, QPA) preferred
