Responsibilities
- Administer state pension plans in strict adherence to ERISA and Tennessee Retirement Systems regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and disbursements with 100% accuracy
- Conduct comprehensive audits of pension portfolios to ensure regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement strategic improvements to retirement plan administration processes
- Provide expert consultation to employees and retirees regarding pension benefits and options
- Collaborate with finance, HR, and legal teams to resolve complex pension-related inquiries
- Prepare detailed reports for state legislature and oversight committees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, CFA, or SPHR) strongly preferred
- Expert knowledge of IRS 401(a), 457(b), and Tennessee Retirement Systems codes
