Responsibilities
- Process retirement applications and calculate pension benefits according to Ohio Revised Code
- Conduct eligibility determinations and coordinate with state agencies for verification
- Manage member communications regarding plan changes, distributions, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, and Ohio Department of Insurance regulations
- Collaborate with investment team on member account reconciliations
- Generate quarterly reports for government stakeholders and auditors
- Train new staff on pension administration procedures and compliance protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Ohio pension laws
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail in financial calculations
- Ability to handle sensitive member data with confidentiality and integrity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Government or public sector experience preferred
