Responsibilities
- Manage complex pension plan administration including benefit calculations, eligibility determinations, and retirement processing
- Ensure strict compliance with federal/state pension regulations (ERISA, NM PERA) and internal policy frameworks
- Conduct thorough audits of retirement accounts and resolve discrepancies with precision
- Develop and deliver educational workshops on retirement planning for government employees
- Collaborate with finance and HR teams to optimize retirement program operations
- Generate comprehensive reports on pension fund performance and actuarial projections
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience in government or regulated sector
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and New Mexico PERA statutes
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Sungard)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial documents
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QKA) preferred
